Travel Training Program Manager – Los Angeles County Proposed Business

Join Innovative Paradigms, a division of Paratransit, Inc., in Los Angeles County as a full-time Travel Training Program Manager. This position will be filled if the contract is awarded to Paratransit, Inc.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Directs, coordinates, and supervises the activities and operations of Paratransit’s remote travel training unit
  • Organizes, coordinates, and supervises the scheduling, training, and progress of travel training program participants
  • Coordinates work with contract agency staff related to travel training eligibility, program marketing, and services provided to people with disabilities
  • Participates in community outreach programs, such as: health fairs, senior programs and other community events to provide information on travel training services and coordinates with contract agency marketing staff when appropriate
  • Participates in various community meetings related to transportation, or the needs of seniors and people with disabilities
  • Gathers project information and statistics and prepares comprehensive reports for presentation to management, the Board, and/or other groups as required
  • Works as a liaison between contract agency staff and travel training staff to avoid conflicting practices or settle possible issues

Qualifications include, but are not limited to:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with people with disabilities or the elderly population
  • AA degree, BA degree, currently enrolled in 4-year University or advanced degree with an emphasis in education, special education, kinesiology, social work, occupational or physical therapy, psychology, or other human service related fields
  • Bilingual abilities (conversational and/or written) are a plus
  • Knowledge of supervisory methods and techniques
  • Knowledge of existing transportation services provided by contract agency
  • Knowledge of the special transportation requirements associated with the transport of the disabled and elderly
  • Knowledge of streets and highways in contract agency jurisdiction and related areas
  • Ability to train, schedule, direct, supervise, and evaluate the work of others
  • Ability to communicate tactfully, persuasively, and effectively in both oral and written forms
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize own work and the work of others so as to meet specified time lines/deadlines
  • Ability to identify problem areas or situations quickly, isolate problem causes, and take appropriate action to resolve problems identified
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with those contacted in the performance of required duties
  • Ability to motivate individuals and groups toward the successful accomplishment of established goals and objectives
  • Knowledge of the basic philosophies and practices associated with travel training operation
  • Ability to learn and apply Innovative Paradigms policies and procedures as applied to travel training functions

Work Schedule:

  • Full time position with convenient and consistent office hours of Monday-Friday

Salary:

  • $80,000-90,000, depending upon qualifications
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 10½ paid vacation days per year; 12 paid holidays per year; 4 paid floating holidays per year with optional payout once per year
  • Flexible spending account: company contributes 50% of annual election for qualifying out-of-pocket medical expenses and dependent expenses incurred during work hours
  • Employer contribution to retirement plan after 2 years of employment
