Paratransit, Inc. is now accepting applications for Small Bus Driver/Vehicle Operators to operate Paratransit buses safely and efficiently in the door-to-door transport of passengers to scheduled sites; to assist passengers on and off assigned vehicle; to assure the safety of passengers while riding in assigned vehicles; and to maintain accurate records and logs of trip information as required. The schedule for this position is between the hours of 5:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., Monday through Friday with weekends and major holidays off.

The minimum qualifications include, but are not limited to:

  • Valid California Driver License
  • 1 year experience working as a professional driver (such as bus, delivery driver or Uber) or experience working with individuals with disabilities.
  • Clean driving record (no more than 2 points)
  • At least 21 years of age for insurability
  • COVID-19 vaccination and booster required. Must be fully vaccinated prior to first day of work. Must have booster if eligible.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana)
  • Must be able to work a full-time schedule 5 days a week Monday through Friday 10-11 hour shifts, between 5:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.

A $400.00 sign on bonus (to be paid in increments after 30, 90 and 180 days of employment). Additional $500.00 sign on bonus if you are already licensed to drive a bus with 16+ passengers ( to be paid after training is completed).

After successful completion of five months’ probation, Vehicle Operators receive ten paid designated holidays per year and begin accruing 4 floating holidays, 10 paid vacation and 12 paid sick leave days per year. Paratransit, Inc. provides training to get your Commercial Driver License at no cost to the employee. Guaranteed 40 hours per week! No working Holidays, late Nights or Weekends!

The license application process must be started no later than the second week of employment and requires a DMV fee of up to $89.00. This fee is the responsibility of the Vehicle Operator. Paratransit, Inc. will provide training to obtain your Commercial Driver License.
